FRIDAY'S ADVENTURES

October 7

WHAT'S THAT BUG

WTB, or 'What's That Bug',
is exactly what it sounds like;
a web site that answers pretty much any question
about bugs. Whether mildly curious
about bugs or totally paranoid about
what you just spotted on the front porch,
the site allows visitors to
submit a photo and/or query
about the nature of any insects that may fly,
crawl or jump through their lives.

Search the index to learn the
difference between a whip scorpion
and a generic scorpion,
read some of the surprisingly interesting
'bug biographies',
or visit the 'buggy gift shop'

COOKIE RECIPES

Few things recall the joys of childhood
like the smell of home-baked chocolate chip cookies.
If you are longing for cookies
'as good as grandma used to make',
you can finally make your own with
a little help from our friends at
cookierecipe.com.

Visitors will find a list of cookie recipes
to satisfy any and every appetite,
including recipes for diet cookies,
brownies, as well as old standbys such as
oatmeal, chocolate chip and peanut butter.

There is also a store where you can buy
a wide range of cooking and baking essentials,
and even online coupons to use
toward the purchase of well-known consumer brands.

THE BEAUTY OF WINE LABELS

While many sites herald the joys of
what is actually inside the bottle, Stratsplace.com pays tribute
to the beautiful labels placed on
the worlds finest wines.
Connoisseurs can view labels from wines
all over the world, including Australia, Argentina, Chile and even China.

The site was created by a husband and wife team
who have a passion for the artwork
that has been seen on wine bottles for over a century.
Along with surprisingly evolved and abstract artwork,
visitors can read the story of how this couple has actually been threatened
with legal action by the owners
of the wine label they admire so much.

NEW WAVE PHOTOS

Phillip Carly's gracious website,
New Wave Photos,
is an archive of his personal concert photography
from the 1970's and 80's.

A true music buff, Phillip has shots of
literally hundreds of Punk and New-Wave bands and musicians,
from long forgotten no names
to world famous groups like The Ramones.
Like so many small sites,
the enjoyment in cruising through New Wave Photos
comes from the personality of the individual himself.

Visitors will find an endless amount of photos
to look at, since Mr. Carly has gone to the effort
of posting just over 21,000 of his own concert snapshots!

THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE

THE PSYCHIC

DOCTOR FUN

WHEN YOU KNOW IT ISN'T GOING WELL WITH HUMAN RESOURCES

COMMENTS MADE IN THE YEAR 1957

"Did you hear the post office is thinking about
charging a dime just to mail a letter?"

"If they raise the minimum wage to $1, nobody will
be able to hire outside help at the store."

"When I first started driving,
who would have thought gas would someday
cost 29 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off
leaving the car in the garage."

"Kids today are impossible. Those duck tail hair
cuts make it impossible to stay groomed.
Next thing you know, boys will be wearing their hair
as long as the girls."
